For centuries, artists have created images and objects to inspire spiritual or religious feelings. A rose, often heralded as a natural symbol of perfection and beauty, has been a subject of interest to me for more than two decades. Over the years, the rose has become a singular, meaningful motif that has afforded experimentation in a variety of media. Whether the image of the rose is vibrant, fractured, frozen, or isolated, for me it harnesses and focuses energy like a sacred icon.
