Studying in Rome was a life-changing experience for me, bringing to mind existential questions of identity. These images draw on the beauty of wall paintings from antiquity and the Renaissance, which become ever more fragmented in my mind as time erodes specific memories. My images, while suggesting ancient frescoes, are intended as explorations of contemporary, personal narratives as I ask myself fundamental questions, such as "who am I" and "why am I here." Although these questions cannot be answered, introspection is important and the self-knowledge gained from such questions can be appreciated.
